Washington Montessori is a child-centered, alternative educational center based on the child development theories originated by Italian educator Maria Montessori. The school encourages children to develop their observation skills through many types of "hands on" activities which uses the five senses, kinetic movement, spatial refinement, small and gross motor skill coordination, and concrete knowledge that leads to later abstraction.

Students graduating 5th grade at Washington Montessori are automatically assigned to Gateway Middle for 6th grade.
